Terms & Conditions
Enquiry queries.
In the interest of expediency reference may not always be made to you on minor queries which arise when dealing with you enquiry. For quotation purposes we may make assumptions which seem reasonable to us but in these instances, if we think that the later resolution of the queries could affect our quoted price we will say so in the quotation. In the event of an order being placed these will, of course, be raised with you at this time.
Machining/casting/pattern drawings.
Our standard procedure in quoting is based upon the use of finished machined drawings. Where only a sample casting or casting drawing or pattern drawing is supplied for us to quote against we will, subject to note 1, still quote you but in the event of an order subsequently being placed with us we require a finished machined working drawing before beginning to deal with your order.
Customers' supply of pattern equipment.
Any assumptions which we have to make in a quotation because the enquiry states that pattern equipment will be supplied by you in the event of an order subsequently being placed are entirely subject to such equipment proving to be acceptable to us after a detailed inspection of it has been carried out by us on our premises. Any costs of alterations, repairs, mounting etc which are necessary to enable us to use such equipment cannot obviously be given until after this inspection.
Pattern Storage.
As a matter of routine mounted pattern equipment after completion of an order is kept in out pattern stores pending further orders. If you require that this be returned to you instead then we should point out that in the event of this same pattern equipment being returned to us at a later date to produce castings for you against a new order a charge may be made by us for remounting, pre-production checks etc. This charge would not apply in the case of loose pattern equipment.
Insurance of pattern equipment.
In accordance with advised practice in the insurance profession, owners of pattern equipment should insure it for any location in the UK. We ourselves therefore do not insure your pattern equipment and recommend that you check your policy to see if you are adequately covered in this respect.
Delivery quantities
The number of castings which we deliver of an item may not always be the exact quantity stated on your order although it will be very near to it. This practice is acceptable to our customers for nearly all the castings which we make but if required we can deliver minimum, maximum or exact quantities. However, we require knowing about this at the enquiry stage
Identification of castings.
It is essential for us to be able to identify positively each of the castings, which we make as they progress through our works and are finally booked out in our despatch department. Therefore, before a new pattern is used, it has a number affixed to it in such a way that this number will reproduce on each casting made from it. The number, which of course will be nominated by you, must be unique to the particular casting and it will be the only number by which we will know the casting.
Payment.
Payment of our account is required before the end of the month following the month of the invoice date and we reserve the right to levy interest charges at prevailing rates, calculates on a daily basis, where payment exceeds this period. |
